OMG

so many things have happened since I last wrote a blog post!

I've been to Iraq to film for the documentary which is already finished! I've had a wonderful time and an amazing life experience. It wasn't a total cultural shock because I already know a few things from Indonesia, but it was something I eventually didn't want to miss. We only went for like 5 days and it was too short. I really enjoyed my stay over there.
Filming was awesome to do too, but I got really annoyed a lot because things didn't always go my way xD That's just how I roll.
When we got back we started editing the documentary. I was the one doing the actual editing, but my teammates were with me to overlook the entire thing. Some worked on the voice over or searched for extra footage.. it was a real intense time! Everyone was pretty much on edge, but we had  fun too. :3
The release of our documentary was confronting.. seeing it on a big screen was something different and I noticed sooo many mistaks xD yeah, you'll always have that I guess.
Eventually it was a great day and an entire great experience. 5 months of intense working on 1 thing... something I've never done before.

part 1

part 2

But I'll be doing it again! Yes! For my graduation I'll be making another documentary, all by myself. Or actually with a lot of help from my parents because it'll be about my family and myself. (somewhat)
I've started to work on this new project "project keris" this week, because I also had to make 2 more exams. Which I didn't pass. IOERHEIUTHROITHJ. yes.
Anyway, my graduation project will be about the keris (google it) and how it's been in my life for as long as I know, but I don't actually know a lot about it and I want to know more.
It's only in an early stage, but I'm working really hard for it to be great! ^^ Here's to yet another 5 months (or more) of hard work. xD But fun work :3 I've found out that I love editing as much as I love making stuff like magazines. Because of this I find it hard to let others do these kind of choirs... meh, if you want something done right you have to do it yourself anyway.

Anehwhooo. In the meantime I've had a fun christmas with friends and family and got a lot of cookery presents (like 3 Nigella cook books <3 and 2 cookies cookbooks!), a wonderful birthday party for my nii-chan and a quiet but nice new years eve.

I hope to be writing a lot more from now on!

Over and out ^_^

Iraq!

Hi guys,

Monday is D-day, because I will be leaving for a week of intense filming in Kurdistan, Iraq.
You all know that I'm really busy with my major at school, making a documentary about the IMCK, and that's why I'm going over there to interview and shoot a lot of interesting shots. I've never done anything this big before.. I've made a few commercial-like movies, but never a documentary this big. It's a tough road (isn't everything in life?) but I've grown to really love this too. I'm more of a do-type than a talk-type though, so I'm really happy that I'll finally be able to film. A little nervous about it too, because they're expecting that I'll kick ass at it xD I hope I won't let them down!
Afterwards of course it's time to edit, soooo looking forward to that!! Yes I'm pretty much a geek who wants to never see daylight again, but there isn't much daylight here to begin with currently, so whatevs xD.
Anyway, I'm going to finish my work for tonight so I can hurry and sleep because tomorrow is yet another packed day with a lot of final prep for our trip on monday!

I hope that I can blog or keep you guys posted through facebook and twitter, but I have no idea how busy we'll be...

See you guys later!!
